I hate to be the first to bring up challenges/reasons to hesitate!
At the first honors brainstorm, Ric Petry mentioned the potential affect that an honors program could have on the perception of the overall curriculum at CCAD. By creating an honors program, do we in any way diminish the perception of the CCAD BFA for non-honors grads? I think the reality is an honors program would enhance the quality of education for all CCAD students- but how would we ensure that is understood by the business community, graduate schools, and other external stakeholders?
It's certainly not a reason to pull back on starting a program- but it is a topic that should be addressed as the discussions continue....
